Mrs. Katherine Lee James, age 78, of Rockmart, passed away Friday, June 21, 2013 at her residence.
She was born in Summerville, GA on January 20, 1935, a daughter of the late Harvey Fincher and the late Hattie Hendrick Fincher. She had lived most of her life in Polk County where she was a member of the Cedartown Church of God of the Union Assembly. Mrs. James was a homemaker and loved to spend time sewing, cooking and coloring.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. James, on July 21, 2006; son, Roy Dale James; daughter, Cathy Darlene; and brother, R.B. Fincher.
Survivors include five children: Mike James, Lafayette, Debra Daniel, Rockmart, Patricia Gail Daniel, Rockmart, Billy Joe James, Cedartown and Sherry Jarrell, Cedartown; 16 grandchildren; a number of great grandchildren; sister, Jean Camp, Summerville; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 24, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Robustino Rivera officiating. Interment will follow in the Valley View Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include: Brandon James, Lamar Jarrell, Jason Daniel, Tim Fletcher, Michael Jarrell, Bobby Jarrell, Bruce Colston and Wally Sutton.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mrs. Katherine Lee James.
