Kenneth Lee Wilson

Mr. Kenneth Lee Wilson, Sr. age 66, of Centre, AL passed away Monday, January 9, 2012 in a Gadsden, AL medical center.


He was born in Anniston, AL on June 29, 1945, son of the late James Lee Wilson and the late Willie Christine Willingham Wilson. Mr. Wilson had lived in Centre, AL since 1995 moving there from Cartersville, GA. He was self employed as a paint contractor, and he was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Wilson was a ten year veteran of the United States Marine Corp serving in Vietnam. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by an infant son, Sparty Wayne Wilson in 1966 and a brother, Claude Ray Wilson on November 22, 2009.


Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Judy Taylor Wilson, Centre, AL to whom he was married on November 16, 1963; daughter, Mrs. Tina Darlene Parker, Centre, AL; son, Kenneth Lee Wilson, Jr. and his wife Teresa, Cartersville, GA; two grandsons: Kenneth Lee Wilson III and Dylan Ray Parker; two step grandchildren: Cary and Jake Wolfe; three brothers: Eugene Wilson, Aragon, Russell Wilson, Centre, AL and Randy Wilson, Centre, AL.


Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev.Ken Taylor and Rev.Jeff Chambers officiating. Interment will follow in the Aragon Cemetery with Brown-Wright Post #12 of the American Legion in charge of military graveside rites.


Pallbearers will include: Bobby Gibbs, Jackie Gibbs, Steve Gibbs, Danny Gibbs, Timmy Gibbs and Dion Hays.


The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
