Larry "Curtis" Young, Sr.

Mr. Larry “Curtis” Young, Sr., age 73, of Rockmart, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at his residence.

Mr. Young was born in Maryville, TN on May 15, 1948 to his parents Robert Young and Ruby Elizabeth Lowe Young. He had lived in Rockmart for the past ten years after moving from the Canton area. He was Christian by faith. Curtis loved to hunt and fish and took a special interest in automobiles. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren deeply, as well as his dogs.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Young was preceded in death by a sister, Jo Sims, and a brother, Troy Young.

He was survived by his loving wife, Ernie Young; four children: Larry Young, Jr. of Douglasville, Toby Payne (Angela) of Rockmart, Bobbie Edmonds of Rockmart, and Michael Young (Halie) of Dallas; five grandchildren; a brother, Tommy Young of Canton; and a sister, Patricia Maulding. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home. Per his wishes, Mr. Young will be cremated following visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the memorial fund at Truist Bank in memory of Mr. Young.
