Leola Yarbrough

Mrs. Nora Leola Yarbrough,also known by her grandchildren as Munner, age 81, of Rockmart, passed away Friday, March 8, 2013 at her residence.

She was born in Carrollton, GA on October 19, 1931 a daughter of the late T. R. (Ted) Mitchell and Allie Ruth Cook Mitchell. Mrs. Yarbrough had lived the greater part of her life in Rockmart where she was a member of the Rockmart Church of God and a retired employee of the Polk School District having worked in the dietary department of Goodyear Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Yarbrough on April 17, 2007.

Survivors include her son, Mitchell Lee Yarbrough and his wife Teresa of Rockmart; two granddaughters: Bethany Lynn Johnson and Angela Nicole Goodwin both of Rockmart; step granddaughter, Victoria Charisse Truelove, Rockmart; two great grandchildren: Michael Lane Johnson and Shyanne Alexis Goodwin both of Rockmart; two sisters: Sara Ruth Garrett, Rockmart and Gladys Robinson, Aragon; dear friend, Mary Tolley, Rockmart and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Deltone Harne officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens with Rev. Michael Edwards officiating.

Pallbearers will include: Michael Johnson, Adam Goodwin, Bobby Garrett, Robbie Garrett, Terry Robinson, Bobby Robinson and William Robinson. Lane Johnson will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial gifts be made to the Scottish Rite Hospital c/o Children?s Healthcare of Atlanta, 1687 Tullie Circle NE Atlanta, GA 30329.
