Leonard A. Gentry

Mr. Leonard A. Gentry, age 77, of Rockmart, GA passed away Friday, May 2, 2014 at his residence.

He was born in Taylorsville, GA on October 21, 1936 a son of the late Wesley Gentry and Lillie Evans Gentry. Mr. Gentry had lived most of his life in Polk County where he was a retired carpenter. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Hicks Gentry on June 29, 1995; by two sisters: Eunice Williams and Margie Colston; and by five brothers: Dennis, Hoyt, Larry, Charles and Alvin Gentry.

Survivors include three daughters: Pam Jones and husband Tim, Cedartown, Brenda Gable, Cedartown and Lisa Wheeler and husband Carl, Rockmart; six grandchildren: Vicki Wilkerson, Jonathan Gable, Mindi Lane, Jessica Childers, Lindsey Wheeler and Brent Wheeler; six great great grandchildren: Landon Dutton, Logan Gable, Ryland Gable, Liam Gable, Maleah Wilkerson and Titus Wilkerson; one brother, Elmer Gentry, Cartersville and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral and interment services will be held Sunday, May 4, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery with eulogies by the family.

Pallbearers will include: Alvin Gentry, Mark Gentry, Timmy Gentry, Jimmy Colston, Tony Gentry and Jason Gentry.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
