Lillian B. Sherman

Mrs. Lillian B. Sherman, age 90, of Rockmart passed away Monday, June 13, 2016 at her residence .

She was born in Jefferson County, AL on September 17, 1925, a daughter of Edgar Eugene Braswell and Ollie LeGrande Braswell but lived her early childhood years in Rockmart. Upon the retirement of her husband the couple returned to Rockmart thirty years ago from Greenville, NC. Mrs. Sherman attended the Rockmart First United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice E. Sherman, Jr.; by a son, Lynn Thomas Sherman and a sister, Margaret Williams.

Survivors include a son, Maurice E. Sherman, III (Laura), Rockmart; two grandsons: David Sherman (Paige), Dalton and James Sherman (Lillie Ann Forsyth), Athens; half brother, Bob Williamson, Rockmart.

Graveside funeral and interment services will be held Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in Rose Hill Cemetery with her son Maurice Sherman, III delivering a eulogy.

The family will gather at Mrs. Sherman's residence on Oak Hill Drive following the service to greet family and friends.

The family has respectfully requested that flowers and plants be omitted and memorial gifts be made in Mrs. Sherman's memory to the charity of your choice.
