Mrs. Linda Irene Turkett Ingram, age 71, of Rockmart, GA passed away Friday, January 8, 2016 at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born in Rome, GA on November 25, 1944, a daughter of the late Ralph J. Turkett and Velma Irene Wallace Turkett. Mrs. Ingram had lived the greater part of her life in Polk County where she was a 1962 graduate of Cedartown High School. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Piedmont, AL. Mrs. Ingram spent her working career with the Polk School District in the transportation department driving a school bus for forty years.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ingram on March 9, 2008 to whom she was married on January 8, 1966.
Survivors include her three children: Adonna Jackson and her husband Ronnie, Rockmart, Shane Ingram and his wife Carla, Rockmart and Melinda Graves, Rockmart; ten grandchildren: Brittany Jackson, Matthew Jackson, Shayna Ingram, Shane Ingram, Jr., Grant Morris, Sharla Ingram, Makayla Graves, Shelby Graves, Zoe Graves and Christina Graves.
Graveside funeral and interment services will be held Sunday, January 10, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. in the Union Grove Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. David Ingram officiating.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial gifts be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Mrs. Ingram.
The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mrs. Linda Irene Turkett Ingram.
