Linda L. Ely

Mrs. Linda Ely, age 61, of 120 Cherokee Circle Cedartown, GA passed away Sunday, April 4, 2010 in Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, Marietta, GA.

She was born in Atlanta, GA on December 22, 1948 a daughter of the late Warner H. Hill and Ethel Louise Holland Hill. Mrs. Ely had been a resident of Cedartown for the past two years moving from Rockmart where she and her husband had made their home for ten years. She was a member of the Springdale Baptist Church of Rockmart and was a former employee of the National Envelope Company.

Survivors include her husband, Mr. James Ely of Cedartown to whom she was married on August 26, 2000; one daughter, Pamela Byrd, Smyrna; two sons: Jimmy Gittens, Villa Rica and Bobby Goss, Dalton; one step son, James W. Ely, Adairsville; three sisters: Janice Givens, Marietta, Patricia Lee, Smyrna and Karen Hill, Commerce; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Springdale Baptist Church with Bro. Larry Fennell and Rev. Bobby McDowell officiating. Interment will follow in the Springdale Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Michael Byrd, Jeff Byrd, Jimmy Ely, Troy Croft, Tracy Brown and Barry Givens.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
