Lisa Ann Owens

Mrs. Lisa Ann Owens, age 60, of Aragon, GA, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023.

Lisa was born in Rome, GA, on November 21, 1962, daughter of the late Edwin Garrett and Ruth Popham Garrett. She had lived all her life in Polk County and was of the Baptist faith. Lisa was a graduate of Rockmart High School and received her Bachelor’s degree from Berry College and went on though her graduate studies to receive a Master’s degree in early childhood education. She was always in favor of a trip to go fishing and cherished the time she had with her family.

Lisa is survived by her husband, Gwendell Owens; daughter, Kady (Charlie) Argo of Rockmart; son, Ryan Dover of Aragon; three grandchildren, Emma Leigh, Karlie Mae, and Luke; brothers, Harold (Karen) Garrett of Rockmart, and Michael (Ann) Garrett of Aragon.

A Celebration of Life for Lisa will be held on Wednesday afternoon, November 1, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Bruce Littlejohn officiating. Eulogies will be provided by family and friends.

Lisa’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until the service hour.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
