Louise Barkley

Mrs. Louise D. Barkley, age 95, of Buchanan, GA and formerly of Cedartown and Gadsden, AL passed away Monday, June 17, 2013 following several years of declining health.

She was born in DeKalb County, Alabama on December 28, 1917 a daughter of the late John William Daniel, Jr. and Mary Frances Tanner Daniel. Mrs. Barkley had lived the greater part of her life in Gadsden, AL where she attended Carnes Baptist Church. She lived in Cedartown for three years before moving to Buchanan in 2005. Mrs. Barkley was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Barkley; by a daughter, Frances B. Floyd; by two brothers: William and James Daniel and by seven sisters: Nena Nelson, Maggie Whitt, Della Bishop, Docia Brinyark, Pauline Duncan, Bessie Wood and Ethel Daniel.

Mrs. Barkley loved everybody and everybody loved her.

Survivors include three grandsons: Dr. Tim Floyd and his wife Sylvia, Rockmart, Mr. Jeff Floyd and his wife Judy, Newnan and Brian W. Floyd, Rockmart; four great grandchildren: Kyle Floyd, Heather Andrews and her husband Jon, Amanda Ralph and her husband Donald and Ryan Floyd; two sisters: Bertha Nell Mitchell, Trenton, GA and Sarah Garrison, Sardis, AL.

A viewing with graveside funeral and interment services will be held Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 12noon (11:00 am CST) in Plunkett Cemetery, Collinsville, AL with Bro. Donald Lester officiating.
