Louise Hollis Lester

Louise Hollis Lester, age 93, of Rockmart, GA, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023.

Mrs. Lester was born on October 31, 1929 in Temple, GA, a daughter of the late Homer Ray Hollis and Lula McAdams Hollis. Louise retired from Sewell Fabrics where she had worked as a seamstress. She was a lifelong resident of Rockmart and a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in her yard and tending to her plants. She also enjoyed spending time with her loving family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. David Lee Lester; five sisters; Pearl Cole, Estelle Winters, Jewell Gober, Clara Bell Winters and Mildred Finley; two brothers: Guy Hollis and Buck Hollis and her great-grandchild, Logan Holt.

Louise is survived by her two sons, Dwain Lester and his wife, Linda of Villa Rica, GA, Lee Lester and his wife, Tonie of Rockmart, GA; daughter, Elaine Haney and her husband, Larry of Rockmart, GA; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 16 great -great grandchildren; sister, Mary Nell Walker of Alpharetta, GA, and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Louise Hollis Lester will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Parris and Rev. Jerry Hollis officiating. Interment will follow the service at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Shane Lester, Jack Dale, Cody Piper, Blake Cochran, Noah Floyd, Bradley Silvers, Jason Cochran and Chris Terry. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Kayson Atkins, Knox Atkins, Michael Piper, Bobby Bates, Tyson Floyd and Ty Floyd.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
