Louise W. Dunn

Mrs. Louise W. Dunn, age 83, of Peachtree Road Rockmart passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011 at her residence following a lengthy illness.


She was born February 15, 1927 a daughter of the late R.B. Whitfield and Fannie Moore Whitfield. Mrs. Dunn had lived the greater part of her life in Rockmart where she was a member of the First United Methodist Church. In addition to her work at home she helped operate their family business, Dunn?s Quick Stop. Mrs. Dunn was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. John Dunn, Jr. on November 19, 1980 and by two sisters: Mrs. Virginia Chandler and Mrs. Catherine Goodson.


Survivors include her two daughters: Mrs. Teresa Baker and husband Jackie, Rockmart and Ms. Jeanna Gay, Rockmart; her two sons: Mr. Freddy Dunn and wife Pam, Rockmart and Mr. Whit Dunn and wife Joyce, Rockmart; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren also survive.


Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Al Cunningham and Rev. Greg Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.


Pallbearers will include: Luke Dunn, Kevin Gay, Brad Baker, Jason Ponder, Donald Sullivan and Keith Witcher.


The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
