Lucy Catherine Flippo Hulsey

Mrs. Lucy Catherine Flippo Hulsey, age 82, of Rockmart, GA passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024.

Lucy was born in Dumfries, VA on March 2, 1942, a daughter of the late John Flippo, Jr. and the late Elsie Davis Flippo. Lucy traveled a lot with her husband, Lynn during his years in the Marines, but lived the greater part of her adult life in Rockmart. She attended Morning View Baptist Church and was a housewife and homemaker to those she cared for. Lucy loved to quilt, enjoyed arts and crafts, cruising the Caribbean, and spending time shopping. Her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren and her dog, Sally.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Lynn Hulsey; and her brother, Robert Flippo.

Lucy is survived by her son, Francis John Doutt and his wife Heather; three grandchildren, Kyle, Kenny, and Jamie Doutt; two great-grandchildren, Elania, and Nolan Doutt; two sisters, Doris Eads and Pauline Lott; brother, Eddie Flippo; sisters-in-law, Gladys Hulsey, Arlene Hulsey, and Carla Flippo; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Hulsey and J.C. Hulsey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral and interment services will be held Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 2:00 pm in Rockmart Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jeff Hulsey officiating.

The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 12:00 noon until 1:30 pm at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will include Andrew Baker, Alex Baker, Duane Knight, Mark Forsyth, Rick Sisson, and John Forsyth.
