Lynda Susan Banks

Mrs. Lynda Susan Banks, age 81, of Rockmart, GA passed away at her residence on Thursday, March 13, 2025.

She was born in Atlanta, GA on January 1, 1944 a daughter of the late Lowell Blackmon and the late Ruby Piper Blackmon. Mrs. Banks and her family moved the Rockmart area in 1997 and later moved to Florida returning to Rockmart in 2018. She attended Victory Baptist Church. She was a homemaker but had formerly worked for Rich’s Department Store, Lowell’s Attic and the Chocolate Café.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Gail Banks.

Survivors include her husband, Malvy Banks, Jr.; two daughters: Judy Thompson and Sandi Banks; six grandchildren: Nathaniel Thompson, Alex Thompson, Austin Banks, Abbi Ballard, Kyle Morris and Emily Ford; twelve great grandchildren; two brothers, Adrian Blackmon and Hank Blackmon also survive.

In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated and a Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 29th. at 2:00 pm in the fellowship hall of 101 Church in Aragon.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that flowers be omitted and memorial donations be made to Cancer Navigators or the church of your choice in Mrs. Banks memory.
