Manuela Villanueva

Mrs. Manuela “Lily” Villanueva Maxwell, age 65, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Saturday afternoon, March 16, 2024.

Lily was born in Camaguey, Cuba, on October 2, 1958, daughter of the late Abel Villanueva, Sr. and Ilia Guzman.  She had been a resident of Rockmart for the past 33 years and was of the Catholic faith.  Lily was a housewife and homemaker who enjoyed sewing, making charcuterie boards and was a big LSU fan.  She cherished the time she got to spend with her family and watching the children play baseball.

In addition to her parents, Lily was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Maxwell

Lily is survived by two daughters, Krista Maxwell, and Jamie (Josh) Gamel; two step-daughters, Maureen Maxwell, and Sherrye Reaves; two grandchildren, Grant Gamel and Maxton Gamel; two sisters, Margarita Quesada and Maria Baker; brother, Abel Villanueva, Jr.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial services for Lily will be held on Wednesday afternoon, March 20, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Snapp officiating.

Lily’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until the service hour.
