Margaret Bearden

Mrs. Margaret Bearden, age 97, of Rockmart, GA passed away Thursday, December, 24, 2015.

She was born in Waleska, GA on June 6, 1918 a daughter of the late Arrubrus Moore and Elsie Proctor Moore. Mrs. Bearden had lived the greater part of her life in Rockmart where she was a member of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. Prior to her retirement she worked as a beautician.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer Bearden on July 13, 1989; by two brothers: Woodrow and Ted Moore; and by three sisters: Wanna Blewer, Helen Chamlee and Miriam Moore.

She is survived by a son, Michael Bearden, Rockmart; two sisters: Frances Keasler, Armuchee and Lorine Worley and her husband Frank, Panama City, FL; a number of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. in the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Levi Wyatt and Rev. Charles Dyer officiating. Kim Butler will deliver family comments. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Wayne Keasler, Tim Keasler, Kevin Bishop, Doug Wheeler, Charles Soles and Eddie Statham. Honorary pallbearers will include: Frank Statham, Frank Worley, William Taylor and Cecil Lester.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial gifts be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Mrs. Bearden.

The family will share a meal at the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church following the interment service at Rose Hill Cemetery and invite friends to share time with them at the church.

The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mrs. Margaret Bearden.
