Martha Hulsey Swann

Mrs. Martha Hulsey Swann, age 74, of Coots Lake Road Rockmart passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at her residence following a lengthy illness.


She was born in Aragon, GA on June 21, 1937 a daughter of the late Samuel Causey and Rilla Cash Causey. Mrs. Swann had lived all of her life in Polk County and was of the Baptist faith. She retired in 1995 from Mowhawk Industries of Cartersville. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Mr. Bobby Hulsey on March 17, 1975 and by two sisters and six brothers.


Survivors include her husband, Mr. Sebern Swann of Buchanan; one daughter, Mrs. Lisa Tant and her husband Marlin of Rockmart; two sons: Mr. Loran Hulsey and Mr. Darrin Hulsey both of Rockmart; three step children: Mr. Kenneth Swann and wife Shirley, Buchanan, Mrs. Marilyn Thrasher and husband David, Buchanan and Mr. Danny Swann and wife Nancy, Buchanan; five grandchildren: April Hulsey, Hali Hulsey, Seth Hulsey, Dylan Hulsey and Cole Hulsey; one great granddaughter Zori Hulsey; five step grandchildren: April Hightowewr, Stephanie Swann, Danny Wayne Swann, Drew Swann and Shelby Swann.


Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 4, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Anthony Campbell and Rev. Ralph Ploof officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.


Pallbearers will include: Cole Hulsey, Seth Hulsey, Dylan Hulsey, Dean Presley , Frank Prater and Billy Causey. Honorary pallbearers will include: Alfred Hulsey and James Campbell.


The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
