Martie Leigh Brumit Carter

Ms. Martie Leigh Brumit Carter, age 48, of Cedartown, GA passed away Tuesday August 18, 2015 at her residence.

She was born in Rome, GA on February 19, 1967 a daughter of Larry and Doris Meers Brumit. Ms. Carter had lived all of her life in Polk County , was a member of the Cedartown Church of Christ and loved photography. She was an employee of Shaw Industries in Cartersville for fifteen years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Brumit.

Survivors include a daughter, Ashley Carter and her companion Luke Woodward; grandson, Bentley Woodward; sisters: Lori Forrister (Kyle) and Margie Brown (Chris); niece, Anna Forrister and nephew, Adam Brumit all of Rockmart.

Graveside funeral and interment services will be held Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in Polk Memory Gardens with Minister Josh Clevenger officiating. Pallbearers will include: Kyle Forrister, Adam Brumit, Chris Brown, Kevin Carter, Donnie Carter and Tim Robinson.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
