Marty Waddell

Mr. Marty Waddell, age 58, of Aragon, GA passed away suddenly Monday, October 12, 2020.

Marty was born in Atlanta, GA on October 12, 1962, a son of the late Richard Eugene “Gene” Waddell and the late Thelma Lois Waddell. A native of Aragon, Marty had lived in the Portland area all of his life and was a member of the Church Of God Of The Union Assembly. He enjoyed being outside and loved spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, Marty was preceded in death by brothers: Curtis and Steve Waddell; and nephews: Clint Waddell and Jason Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Angie Brown Waddell, of Aragon, to whom he was married on April 25, 1982; two daughters: Shelley Williams and her fiancé, Reshard Boykin, Villa Rica, and Cassie Mixon and her husband, Brantly, Rockmart; three grandchildren: Kayleigh and Kyler Williams and Lucas Harbuck; two sisters: Shelia Smith, Carrollton, and Melissa Jackson, Aragon; sister-in-law, Nancy Waddell, Rockmart; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 7:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Brother Jason Bell officiating.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 pm until the funeral hour at the funeral home.

Honorary pallbearers will include: Dan Hand, Scottie Wallace, Norman Sadler, Blainey Freeman, Brantly Mixon, Reshard Boykin, and David Hand.
