Mary Brown White

Mrs. Mary Brown White, age 84, of Rockmart, GA passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014 in a Rome medical center.

She was born in Rockmart, GA on September 23, 1929, a daughter of the late Charles T. Brown and Ettie Pinkard Brown. Mrs. White had lived all of her life in the Rockmart and Aragon area where she was a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church, She had been employed by the Lockheed-Martin Aircraft Corporation and retired from the Gerogia Power Company. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were very dear to her heart and she had a love for flowers and her garden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bobby) White on July 7, 2013; by one brother and four sisters.

Survivors include her two sons: Steve White and his wife Gwen, Oxford, GA and Bert White and his wife Becky, Rockmart; four grandchildren: Captain Chad White, U.S. Army, Ft. Hood, Rhett & Melissa White, Mableton , Nikki & Brandon Tolbert, Rockmart and Kristen and Clark Dean, Rockmart; five great grandchildren: Rob White, Grace Tolbert, Lizzy Dean, Lexie Dean and Charlotte White; brother, Horace Brown and wife Madeline, Hampton, GA; brother in law and sister in law, Paul and Joan White; sisters in law: Martha White, Sue Kellett and Carolyn White.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the New Prospect Baptist with Reverend Ryan Hale and the Reverend Dr. Larry Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Chad White, Rhett White, Clark Dean, Brandon Tolbert, Mark Caffrey and Dale Morrison.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
