Mary Elizabeth Owen

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Owen, age 80, of Rockmart, GA, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021.

Mrs. Owen was born on January 16, 1941 in Rockmart, GA, to her late parents: Robert and Opal Priest Brumbelow. Mary spent the greater part of her life in Rockmart and was a graduate of Rockmart High School. Mrs. Owen attended Rockmart First United Methodist Church. In her free time, Mrs. Owen enjoyed going camping, watching Braves baseball, sharing recipes with her friends and family and going to watch her granddaughters play tennis and soccer. Most importantly, Mary loved her family dearly and spending time with them. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Reggie Owen.

Mrs. Owen is survived by her son, Barry Owen and his wife, Neeve of Rockmart, GA, two granddaughters: Mary Ella Owen and Dori Owen, sisters: Gail Waters and her husband, Larry of Rockmart, GA and Judy Owens of Rockmart, GA, special niece, Stephanie Cook of Rockmart, GA, and other nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Owen will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 12:00 PM from The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Melton Moss officiating and with a eulogy given by her son, Mr. Barry Owen. Interment will follow the service at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen: Dillard Cook, Bryan Owens, Larry Waters, Keith Fuller, Junior Carter and Charlie Waters. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Billy Wills and Roddy Austin.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 10:00 AM until the service hour at 12:00 PM.
