Mary Nell White

Mrs. Mary Nell White, age 78, of 215 Old Rome Road, Aragon, GA passed away Friday, November 27, 2009 in Cartersville following a brief illness.


She was born in Birmingham, AL on October 5, 1931 a daughter of the late Walter Lewis Durham and Nellie Irene Shelton Durham . Mrs. White had been a resident of Polk County for the past four years moving here from Dallas, GA where she had made her home for the greater part of her life. She was a member of the Live Oak Baptist Church and retired in 2006 having worked for many years as a dental hygienist.


Survivors include her husband, Mr. Fred A. (Buddy) White of Aragon to whom she was married on March 18, 1968; children: Debbie Cooper, Euharlee, GA, Carey Oden, Birmingham, AL, Larry White, Dallas, GA, Eleanor White, Kennesaw, GA, Toni Shumacher, Austell, GA, Cheryl Singleton, Woodstock, GA, David White, Houston, TX and Edgar White, Kennesaw, GA; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive.


Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 29, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Anthony Osborn officiating. Interment will follow in the Live Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.


Pallbearers will include: Wayne Cooper, Kelly Chance, James White, Matthew Oden, Eric Laurens and Russell Gravitt.


The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
