Max M. Moss

Mr. Max M. Moss, age 85, of Rockmart, GA passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at his residence.

He was born in Rockmart, GA on August 13, 1934 the son of the late Leonard Henry Moss and the late Mildred Ellen McCown Moss. Mr. Moss had all of his life in the Bellview community of Rockmart where he was a member and Deacon of the Bellview Baptist Church. He attended Rockmart High School and served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959. Mr. Moss worked for Marquette Cement Company for 22 years, later worked for 13 years with Georgia Power in substation maintenance and for the past 20 years worked for Polk County as a convenience center supervisor. He was a member of Rockmart Lodge # 97 F. & A.M. and the Cedar Valley Shrine Club. Mr. Moss enjoyed collecting cars and trucks as well as attending car shows.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Moss on June 27, 2011 to whom he was married on August 3, 1957.

Survivors include his son, Greg Moss and his wife Jennifer, Rockmart; three grandchildren: Madison Moss, St. Augustine, FL, Jennie Lynn Womack and her husband, Andrew, Cedartown and Jamie Ann Duran and her husband Kyle, Smyrna; four great grandchildren also survive.

Graveside funeral and interment services will be held Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Mark Purser and Rev. Owen (Bud) Davis officiating.

Pallbearers will include: Wayne Purser, Charles (Ju) McCown, David Howard, Andrew Womack, Kyle Duran, Chad Dabbs and Ricky Sorrells.

Mr. Moss will lie instate at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 am until 1:30 pm. Social distancing rules are to be applied.
