Melvin Ronnie "Foot" Dyer

Mr. Melvin Ronnie "Foot" Dyer, age 57, of Rockmart, GA passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014 upon arrival to Wellstar Paulding Hospital.

He was born in Cedartown, GA on December 7, 1957 a son of Melvin Dyer and Mittie Knight Dyer. Ronnie had lived the greater part of his life in Rockmart where he was a 1975 graduate of Rockmart High School. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was a former employee of Lucent Technologies. Collecting match box cars was a hobby he enjoyed.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Tim Dyer on February 3, 1992 and by his mother, Mitttie Dyer on October 24, 2004.

Survivors include a son, Aaron Dyer, Piedmont, AL; father, Melvin Dyer, Rockmart; sister, Melba Dyer White, Albuquerque, NM; nephew, Jon Dyer, Powder Springs and a great niece, Azalea Dyer, Powder Springs.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Dyer officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery

Pallbearers will include: Randy Baines, Keith Floyd, Jimmy Fincher, Jon Dyer, Mike McBurnett and Edward Akins.


The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
