Michael Daryl Bishop

Mr. Michael Daryl Bishop, age 59, of Rockmart, GA passed away Friday, March 5, 2021.

Michael was born in Rockmart, GA on November 21, 1961, a son of the late Esmer B. Bishop and the late Virginia Annette Roberson Bishop. He had lived all of his life in Polk County and was a 1980 graduate of Rockmart High School. Michael was a member of the Piedmont Avenue Baptist Church and was active in youth sports throughout the years. He enjoyed coaching baseball and football and also enjoyed wrestling. One of Michaels favorite past times was fishing.

Survivors include his loving wife, Lori Seabolt Bishop of Rockmart, to whom he was married on February 26, 1988; two sons: Mike Bishop and his wife, Ashleigh, Rome and Matt Bishop, Rockmart; granddaughter, Loralei Marie Bishop; brother, Tony Bishop; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Joey Davidson officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Mike Bishop, Matt Bishop. D.J. Bishop, Cody Holmes, Hal Cotter and Ken Williams. Honorary pallbearer will include Todd Barnette.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Social distancing guidelines will be followed, and the family has requested that masks be worn.
