Michael Gene Mcentire

Mr. Michael Gene McEntire, age 72, of Aragon, GA, passed away Thursday morning, December 29, 2022, at his residence.

He was born in Calhoun, GA, on February 17, 1950, and was a graduate of Rockmart High School. Mike (as he was called by his closest friends and family) served in the United States Army Signal Corps and was the Assistant Chief of Staff of Intelligence Branch. He was an avid softball player for over 30 years. Mike retired from Ampacet Corporation in Cartersville, GA, after more than 20 years.

In addition to his parents, Mr. McEntire was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years, Barbara Womack McEntire, and a brother, Donnie McEntire.

He is survived by two daughters, Caryn McEntire, and Lisa McEntire, both of Aragon; two grandsons, Hunter Dodd, and Aaron Dodd, both of Rome, GA; siblings, Deborah Davenport, Joe (Gail) McEntire, and Barbara (Johnny) Garland.

In keeping with his wishes, Mr. McEntire will be cremated and no formal services will be held.
