Michael Edward Statham

Michael Edward Statham, age 70, of Rockmart, GA passed away Monday evening, July 22, 2024.

Mike was born in Rockmart on July 11, 1954, son of the late Hoyt Edward Statham and Mary Powell Statham. He had lived the greater part of his life in Polk County and was a veteran of the United States Army. Mike was a member of the Rockmart Masonic Lodge #97 F&AM. He loved his church, Victory Baptist Church, where he was a member. For over 38 years he was the owner-operator of Statham Tire Company. Mike was an avid golfer who loved working on his old truck and woodworking.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his grandson, James Gavin Statham.

Mike is survived by his life partner, Vickie Nicholson; son, Kevin Statham; granddaughter, Grace Statham; sisters, Lynda (Guy) Rutland, and Connie (James) Langford. Several aunts, uncles and nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial services for Mike will be held on Friday afternoon, July 26, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Snapp officiating. Dan Casey will deliver the eulogy.

Mike’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour.

Honorary pallbearers will include Dan Casey, Lee Polston, Ben Parks, Jud Rutland, Glenn Campbell, Bill Dean, Steve Shelley, Ollie Gaston, Ronnie Davis, Chris Williams, Ricky Sorrells, and Keith Lindsey.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Kidney Fund, American Cancer Society, or HLH research in memory of Mr. Statham.
