Mrs. Mildred Elsberry, age 90, of Rockmart, GA passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015.
She was born in Rockmart on March 1, 1925 a daughter of the late Thomas Pendelton Drew and Annie McGukin Drew. Mrs. Elsberry had lived all of her life in Rockmart where she was a member of the Rockmart Church of Christ. She was a former seamstress with the Helen Ann Dress Shop and was a retired employee of the Polk School District having worked in the Cafeteria of Rockmart High School.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband James Russell Moore on December 29, 1944 and by her second husband William Howard Elsberry on January 6, 1984. She was also preceded in death by her son, James Keith Moore on October 10, 2003; two brothers: Raymond Drew and Thomas P. Drew and by five sisters: Pearl Elrod, Josephine Barnes, Annie Ruth Weatherly, Margaret Craton and Dorothy Bowman.
Survivors include two daughters: Linda Durocher and husband John, Rockmart and Kim Leatherwood and husband Michael, Rockmart; eight grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, including a special niece and nephew, Sherry and Richard Pace, and several great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 25, 2105 at 2:00 p.m. in the Rockmart Church of Christ with a grandson Eric Durocher and Minister Josh Clevenger officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include: Shane Leatherwood, Nick Leatherwood, Eric Durocher, Brent Durocher, Kip Moore and Richard Pace.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Ms. Debbie for taking care of Ms. Elsberry's cats.
