Mildred Lucille Wilson

Mrs. Mildred Lucille Wilson, age 82,of Burleson, Texas, formerly of Rockmart passed away Sunday, November 21, 2010 in Texas.


She was born April 1, 1928 in Rockmart, GA a daughter of the late Clyde Sorrells and Ruby Akins Sorrells. Mrs. Wilson had lived the greater part of her life in Rockmart before moving to Texas in 1997. She was a member of the True Fellowship Non Denominational Church and a retired employee of the Rockmart Nursing and Rehab Center where she was employed for eighteen years as a dietician. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband Lewis Wilson on July 23, 1972 and by a sister, Mary Ann Williams on September 10, 2007.


Survivors include two daughters: Tracey Franklin and husband Richard, Burleson, Texas and Gayle Carroll and husband Calvin, Rockmart; two brothers: Bobby Sorrells, Cedartown and Jerry Sorrells, Phoenix, Arizona; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren also survive.


Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Richard Gasser and Linda Wollum officiating. Debra Thompson, Carol Wood and Barbara Mooney will deliver eulogies. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Matt Parish, Blake Jackson, Ken McMillan, Adam Franklin, Chase Franklin and Troy Franklin.


The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.


The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
