Mildred Manning

Mrs. Mildred Manning, of 527 Church Street, Rockmart passed away Friday, March 11, 2011 at her residence.


She was born on August 29, 1930 in Polk County, GA a daughter of the late Charlie Harold Ingle and Omie Jacobs Ingle. Mrs. Manning returned to Rockmart in 1968 following her husbands retirement from the military during which time they lived in various parts of the world. She was the owner and operator of Mildreds Restaurant in Rockmart for thirty five years. Mrs. Manning was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by husband, James Howell Manning on May 12, 2001; by two sisters: Evelyn Savannah Formby and Pauline Ingle Bailey and by a brother, Dewey Ingle, Sr..


Survivors include her husband, Joe Rother; three daughters: Judy Couch, Kathy Wall and husband Craig and Becky Cole; brother, Charles Ingle all of Rockmart; six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be held Monday, March 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Calvin Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.


Pallbearers will include: Larry Waters, Jr., Cody Wesson, Cameron Wesson, Charlie Waters, Mitch Wall and Jason Wall.


The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.


The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mrs. Mildred Manning.
