Mildred Roberson Swift

**** Due to inclement weather, the funeral for Mrs. Mildred Roberson Swift has been postponed until Friday, February 27, 2015 at 11:00 AM. The family will received friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 PM.

Mrs. Mildred Roberson Swift, age 92, of Rockmart, GA passed away Sunday, February 22, 2015 in a Rome medical center.

She was born in Rockmart, GA on June 19, 1922 a daughter of Ed and Frances Roberson. Mrs. Swift had lived all of her life in Rockmart and was a member of the Van Wert Baptist Church. She was a former employee of Union Carbide of Cartersville.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Heslip Lee Swift on February 28, 1974; by three sons: Tommy Swift, Edward Swift and Donnie Swift; by three brothers: Herman Roberson, J.C. Roberson and Clarence Roberson and by three sisters: Ruth Holcombe, Cleo Roberson and Margie Abernathy.

Survivors include four daughters: Glenda Guice, Rockmart. Sadie Locklear, Dallas, Carolyn Johnson, Rome and Charlotte Austin, Rockmart; 17 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and a number of great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Roberson and Rev. Danny Dunn officiating. A eulogy will be given by Becky Canup. Interment will follow in the Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery with prayer by Rev. Steven Swift.

Pallbearers will include: Randy Akins, T.J. Johnson, Doug Swift, Shane Swift, Steven Swift and Scotty Swift. Honorary pallbearers will include: Trevor Swift, Michael Swift, Jimmy Ray Swift, David Lipham and Carey Canup.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.

The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
