Monroe (P Runie) Christopher

Mr. Monroe (P Runie) Christopher, age 87, of Aragon, GA passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013 in a Rome medical center.


He was born August 29, 1925 in Rockmart, GA and had made his home in the Rockmart and Aragon area all of his life. At the time of his death Mr. Christopher was the oldest member of the Van Wert Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of Wheel and Axle Alignment Company. Following his retirement he was associated with Larry Abernathy?s Body Shop.


Survivors include a daughter, Deidra Arp and her husband, Wayne, Rockmart; son, Robert (Robbie) Christopher, Aragon; adopted daughter, Sarah Anderson, Rockmart; and six grandchildren.


Funeral services will be held Friday, February 1, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the Van Wert Baptist Church with Rev. James Brewer and Rev. Billy Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.


Pallbearers will include: Larry Abernathy, Quint Abernathy, Ray Malone, Walter Zuker, Bill Anderson and Tommy McAlister. Honorary pallbearers will include: Robbie Christopher, Wayne Arp and Tony Clanton.


The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
