Morris Lee Martin, Jr.

Mr. Morris Lee Martin, Jr. age 71, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2023.

Mr. Martin was born in Cedartown, GA, on June 10, 1951, a son of the late Morris Lee Martin, Sr. and the late Mildred Ruth Head Martin. Lee had lived the greater part of his life in Douglasville, GA, before moving back to Rockmart where he had lived for the past seventeen years. He enjoyed working outside, socializing with his friends, cruising town in his truck “Little Skippy”, and was an avid Florida State Seminole fan. Lee worked for a number of years with Alford L. Simpson & Company Landscapes as a designer and received an award from Landscape Management for his design work at the Jimmy Carter Library in Atlanta.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Martin was preceded in death by three sisters, Angela Summerville, Marcia Maxwell, and Cherry Clark; and niece, Cicely Summerville.

Mr. Martin is survived by his two sons, Bradley Martin and his wife, Katie of Levering, MI and Sy Martin and his wife, Ashley of Canton, GA; five grandchildren, Hannah, Bradley, Caroline, John, and Ada; two sisters, Rita Martin and Pam Dunn; brother, Mark Martin. His dear friend, Connie Martin, along with several nieces and nephews also survive.

Celebration of life services will be held Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with family and friends delivering eulogies.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 pm until the service hour at the funeral home.
