Myra Cole

Mrs. Myra Cole, age 75, of Rockmart, GA passed away Friday, April 18, 2014 in a Rome medical center following a brief illness.

She was born in Aragon, GA on February 2, 1939, a daughter of the late Will Douglas Edwards and the late Lillie Ethel Ward Edwards. Mrs. Cole had lived all of her life in Polk County where she had worked for the Polk School District. She was of the Church of God faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Hester.

Survivors include her husband, Hubert Cole of, Rockmart to whom she was married on June 16, 1956; son, Barry Cole and his wife Wanda, Rockmart; daughter, Susan Dixon, Rockmart; sister, Janice Edwards, Rockmart; three brothers: Douglas Edwards, Cedartown, Houston Edwards, Rockmart and Donald Edwards, Chattanooga; four grandchildren and eight grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 20, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Edwards and Rev. Doyal Waters officiating. Connor Hooper will deliver a eulogy. Interment will follow in the Aragon Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will include: Britt Earwood, Dusty Cole, Jonathan Edwards, Adam Elrod, Todd Hooper and Connor Hooper. Honorary pallbearers will include : Douglas Edwards, Houston Edwards and Donald Edwards.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
