John Gibson Norman

Mr. John Gibson Norman, age 68, of Aragon, GA, passed away Monday evening, January 13, 2025, at his residence.

John was born in Burlington, NC, on January 17, 1956, a son of the late Harold Leonard Norman and Jamella Cook Norman. He had lived in Rockmart and Polk County for the last 30 years. John was a self-employed contractor and was a member of Morning View Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved his dogs. John’s greatest thrills came when he was spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Kimberly Bailey Norman, and a granddaughter, Lillian Wolfenbarger.

John is survived by his children, Pam Dixon, Lisa Norman, Savannah (Wes) Dover, William “Tre” (Jamie) Reed, and Sean (Courtney) Clark; grandsons, Zach, Timothy, Josiah, James, John Luke, Josh, Joey, Denny, Wesley, Miles, and Daniel; granddaughters, Brooklyn, Alyssa, and Nora; brothers, Len Norman and Dan Norman; sisters, Mary Kay Griffith and Julie Norman. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A memorial service for John will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller &Son Funeral Home with Bro. Wes Dover officiating.
