Mrs. Patricia Ann Burnley, age 52, of 105 Cashtown Road, Aragon passed away Saturday, August 21, 2010 after a brave five year fight with ovarian cancer.
She was born in Polk County on March 11, 1958, a daughter of Ralph Deems and the late Clara Mae Ely Deems. Patricia had lived all of her life in Polk County and was a member of the Seney Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and loved being at her home spending time outside on her front porch and in the yard.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Clara Mae Deems and her brother, Sonny Ray Deems.
Survivors include her son, Jonathan Burnley, Rome; daughter, Sandy Burnley, Aragon; father, Ralph Deems, Rockmart; two grandchildren: Kaleb Eugene Brock and Dasy Anna Mae Brock; three sisters: Judy Sisson, Rome, Angie Chapman, Rome, and Betty Brinkley, Rockmart; five brothers: Jerry Deems, Aragon, Tommy Deems, Cedartown, Billy Deems, Aragon, Paul Deems, Sr., Rockmart, and Tony Deems, Rockmart; two half sisters: Ashley Deems and Hope Deems both of Aragon; and three half brothers: Justin Deems and Jason Deems both of Rockmart, and Travis Deems of Aragon.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 23, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Deems, Rev. Billy Chambers, and Evangelist Jerry Deems officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include: T.J. Brinkley, Bobby Arp, Jim Waddell, James Pritchett, Justin Deems, Jason Deems, Mark Deems, and Donnie Beck.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
