Patricia Ann Free Cantrell

September 21, 1941 — June 3, 2016

Mrs. Patricia Ann Free Cantrell went to be with our Heavenly Father on June 3, 2016 while at a Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome, GA.

She was born September 21, 1941 in Polk County, GA to Bill Free and Lessie Dell Hayes Free. Mrs. Cantrell had lived the greater part of her life in the Bartow and Polk County area where she was a beloved member of the Cornerstone Independent Baptist Church. She was a former employee of the Taylorsville Bank and the Peoples Bank of Bartow County. Mrs. Cantrell had also been active in the Eastern Star and the Gideon Society.

While living in Missouri following the transfer of her late husband to the Lonestar Cement Plant in Cape Girardeau, Missouri Mrs. Cantrell worked for the Cape Girardeau Assessors office until her retirement. She also served as the state treasurer of the Missouri Mappers Association.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Marcus E. (Mark) Cantrell on January 1, 2013 and by a brother, William Joseph (Joe) Free on July 25, 2014.

Survivors include a son David W. and wife Lori Cantrell of Dublin, California; a daughter. Patrice Marlene and husband Craig Light of Bentonville, Arkansas; five grandchildren: Olivia M. Cantrell, David William (Will) Cantrell, II, Caleb T .Light, Chloe E. Light and Caitlin Light; brother, Jerry Free and wife Audrey, Taylorsville and sister in law, Mary Ann Free, Taylorsville.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with eulogies, poems and music by her children and grandchildren; scripture by her brother Jerry Free and remarks by Rev. Tuck Bowerfind. Interment will follow Wednesday June 8, 2016 at 12:00 Noon in the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA.

Pallbearers will include: Darin Cantrell, Aaron Wood, Al Currier, Jimmy Moore, Cary Hayes, Ronnie Hicks and Lamar Cantrell. Honorary pallbearers will include: Gary Stokes, Dave Bill, Shane Watson Gary Senn, Craig Light, Rufus Cantrell, Raiford Cantrell, James Cantrell, Gene Cantrell and Bill Cantrell.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5 until 9 pm at the funeral home.
