Paulette Goodwill

Paulette Goodwill, age 81, of Aragon, GA, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2023, in a Rome, GA, hospital.

Paulette was born in Greenwood, MS, on September 10, 1941, a daughter of the late John D. Ellis and Minnie Edwards Ellis. She had lived the greater part of her life in the Naples, FL, area, moving to Aragon eight years ago. Paulette was a homemaker who enjoyed going grocery shopping and cooking. She was the ultimate caregiver and the Queen of Scratch-Offs.

In addition to her parents, Paulette was preceded in death by five brothers, Tom Ellis, Don Ellis, Howard Ellis, James Nelson Ellis, and James Robert Ellis; four sisters, Margaret Hendricks, Charlotte LaCompt, Evelyn Odum, and Jo Sullivan.

Paulette is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Kathy Goodwill of Aragon, and Tim and Shannon Goodwill of Dallas, GA; one daughter, Tammy Goodwill of Naples. Eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren along with a special sister-in-law, Helen “Bite-Me” Ellis, and her rekindled love, John Goodwill.

Funeral services for Paulette will be Saturday evening, August19, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Swift officiating. Her son, Tim Goodwill, will deliver the eulogy.

Paulette’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.
