Peggy Nichelson

Mrs. Peggy Nichelson, age 65, of Rockmart, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at her residence.


She was born on October 1, 1947 in Polk County a daughter of Dave Jones and Elizabeth Cochran Jones. Mrs. Nichelson had lived her early life in Canton, GA returning to Rockmart in 1980. She was of the Baptist faith and had been an employee of the Rockmart Nursing Home and Rockmart-Aragon Hospital. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter Angela Nichelson in 1964; by her father, Dave Jones and by her step father Don Jones.


Survivors include her husband, Gearl Nichelson of Rockmart to whom she was married on December 21, 1962; two sons: Tim Nichelson and wife Stephanie, White, GA, Michael Nichelson and wife Michelle, Flintstone, GA ; daughter Kim Tomlin and husband Jason, Rockmart, GA; mother, Elizabeth Jones, Rockmart; eight grandchildren and two great grandsons; brother, David Jones, Rockmart and two sisters: Mabel Campbell, Rockmart and Verna Davis, Waleska, GA.


Funeral services will be held Friday, December 14, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Eddy Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in the Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery.


Pallbeares will include: Nic Tomlin, Jake Bearden, Ryan Nichelson, Dustin Briones, Alex Briones and Jimmy Harper.


The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 9 p. m. at the funeral home.
