Mrs. Phoebe May Dycus, age 89, of the Willette Community of Macon County, TN passed away Sunday morning, July 19, 2020 in Rome, GA.
She was born in Westmoreland, TN on October 1, 1930 a daughter of the late Joe Heater Turner and the late Faye Davis Turner. Mrs. Dycus had made her home in Willette, TN for sixty five years. She and her husband owned and operated the Western Auto True Value in Gainesboro for a number of years. Mrs. Dycus was a member of the Willette Church of Christ and worked for many years as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Smith Dycus on February 4, 2019 to whom she was married on January 3, 1956. She was also preceded in death by a twin sister, Peggy Thompson and sister, Jerry Taylor.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Dycus Holland, Cedartown, GA, a son, William Joseph Dycus, Red Boiling Springs, grandchildren: Daniel Dycus (Veronica), Norma Pennycuff (Derek), Lindsey Holland Amsden (Steve), Katherine Holland, Ashley Holland and Elizabeth Holland; great grandchildren: Luke Smith, Fiona Dycus, Gavin Pennycuff and Isabella Grace Amsden; brother, Steve Davis Turner, Suffolk, England ; sister, Sally Jo Loftis, Hendersonville, TN.
In keeping with her wishes Mrs. Dycus will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date in light of the COVID 19 restrictions.
