R. J. Earwood

Mr. Rollan James (R.J.) Earwood, age 67,of Hillbrook Lane Hixon, TN and formerly of Rockmart passed away Thursday, February 3, 2011 in Hixon.


Mr. Earwood was born in Bartow County, GA on April 9, 1943 a son of the late Henry Isaiah Earwood and Troy Mae Waits Earwood. He had been a resident of Hixon, Tennessee for the past 18 years moving from Rockmart. He worked for Amoco Gas Company as a truck driver in their distribution system and following retirement from Amoco he went to work for Walmart in their hardware department. He was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Earwood.


Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Annette Earwood of Hixon, TN to whom he was married on March 31, 1992; daughter, Stephanie Garrison, Aragon, sons: Britt Earwood, Cedartown and David Sorrells, Hixon; brother, George Isaiah Earwood, Cedartown; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.


Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 6, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Hulsey officiating. Interment will follow in the Floyd Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.


Pallbearers will include: David Sorrells, Jacob Earwood, Jason Cline, Bobby Childers, Sam Milsap and Wade Usher.


The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
