Mrs. Rachel Yoshiko Preston, age 90, of Aragon, GA passed away Friday, May 27, 2016 at her residence.
She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on March 28, 1926, a daughter of the late Seizo and Machiyo Maeda Ono. Mrs. Preston had been a resident of Aragon for the past six years moving here from Sandy Springs. She taught the Japanese language and was an interpreter and translator having owned and operated her own Japanese Translation Company. She was also a Japanese Ikebana flower arrangement instructor. Mrs. Preston was preceded in death by her husband Philip Cottle Preston.
Survivors include three daughters: Dawn Preston, Denver, Colorado, Marti Teems, Aragon and Joanne Gibbs, Townsend, GA; one son, Kenneth Preston, Pembroke Pines, Florida; two brothers: Daniel Ono, Honolulu, Hawaii and Andrew Ono, Salem, Oregon; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, July 10, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Hightower Falls with Rev. Jim Bowers officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday following the memorial service until 4:30 PM at Hightower Falls, 771 Hightower Falls Road, Cedartown, GA 30125.
