Ralph William Dover, Sr.

Mr. Ralph William Dover, Sr., age 83, of Aragon, GA passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015 at his residence following several years of declining health.

He was born in Portland, GA on August 2, 1931 a son of the late Luther W. Dover and Annie Corene Deems Dover. Mr. Dover had lived the greater part of his life in Polk County where he was a member of the Euharlee Baptist Church. He was a former employee of the Aragon Mill and he also worked as a farmer. Mr. Dover was preceded in death by his wife Mildred Jeanet Gentry Dover on April 3, 2015 to whom he was married on September 21, 1951 and by a brother, Jerry Dover on November 13, 2008.

He is survived by a son, Ralph William (Ricky) Dover, Jr., Aragon; four grandsons; brother, S.M. Dover, Rome and two sisters: Ima Jean Hoover, Spur, Texas and Rachel Sartin, Lindale.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Stevie Waddell officiating. Interment will follow in the Aragon Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Ricky Wesley Dover, Justin R. Dover, Reid W. Dover, Ryan Dover, Gary Dover and Jerry Dover, Jr.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
