Randy K. Blankenship, Sr.

Mr. Randy K. Blankenship, Sr., age 62, of Rockmart, GA passed away Monday, December 22, 2014 at his residence following several months of illness.

Randy was born in Cedartown, GA on May 1, 1952 a son of Bruce Blankenship and Lena Robinson Blankenship. He moved to Rockmart in 2013 from Rome where he had made his home for the past twenty years. Randy was a member of the Live Oak Baptist Church of Cave Spring, GA. Prior to ill health he had worked for Three Rivers Security. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Dan Blankenship.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Blankenship of Rockmart to whom he was married on June 8, 1975; three sons: Jonathan Blankenship, Rockmart, Van Blankenship, Bremen and Kenneth Blankenship, Buchanan; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Robert Blankenship; three sisters: Gloria Blankenship, Rome, Nancy Fricks, Cave Spring and Brenda Mount, Lindale; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside funeral and interment services will be held Friday, December 26, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. in the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Larry Davis officiating.

Pallbearers will include: Derrick Buck, Corey Almon, Adam Fricks and Mike Fricks.

The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
