Ray Earl Hicks, Sr.

Mr. Ray Earl Hicks, Sr., age 66, of Rome, GA passed away Saturday October 18, 2014.

He was born in Cherokee County, AL on December 4, 1947, a son of Vivian Joyce Watson Hicks and the late Louie Earl Hicks. Mr. Hicks moved to Rome, GA from Cherokee County, AL in 1985 where he attended the Oak Hill Church of Christ. He spent his working career at Georgia Kraft where he retired following 25 years of service.

In addition to his father, Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Grissom Hicks on March 13, 2011.

Survivors include a son, Ray Earl Hicks, Jr., Little Rock, AR; three daughters: Paula Preston, Centre, AL, Jennifer Johnson, Rome and Betty Harrell, Cedartown; mother, Vivian Joyce Edwards, Centre, AL; two sisters: Donna Johnson, Centre, AL and Dewanna McQuade, Jupiter, FL; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren also survive.

In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Hicks was cremated.

A gathering of family and friends is being planned by Mr. Hicks children.
