Raymond Chupp

Mr. Raymond Chupp, age 73, of Rockmart, GA passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at his residence following a two and a half year illness.

He was born in Polk County, GA on July 20, 1939, a son of the late Jewel Chupp and Lillian McBryde Chupp. Mr. Chupp had lived the greater part of his life in Rockmart and attended Fairview Baptist Church. He was a former employee of Chief Container Company and enjoyed woodworking and gospel music.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters: Estelle Thornton and Betty Forsyth and by five brothers: James Chupp, J.L. Chupp, Richard Chupp, Dennis Chupp and Otis Chupp.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mrs. Mary Ann Chupp, Rockmart; one son, Mr. Jeff Chupp, Alabaster, AL; one brother, Mr. Ronnie Chupp, Temple, GA; one sister, Mrs. Jeannette Robinson, Rockmart; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fairview Baptist Church with Dr. Tony Weaver, Bro. Tommy Montgomery and Bro. Jimmy Deems officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens with Rev. Hoyt Lewis officiating.

Active pallbearers will include: Randall Chupp, Kevin Chupp, Greg Chupp, Marty Robinson, Ron Casey, Trent Tracy and Jimmy Tracy. The Effie Robinson Sunday School Class of Fairview Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
