Raymond Jackson

Mr. Raymond H. Jackson, Sr., age 92, of Cedartown, GA, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024.

Mr. Jackson was born in Rockmart, GA, on October 6, 1931, a son of the late Manco C. Jackson and Mamie Hayles Jackson.  He had lived all his life in Polk County and was a member of Morning View Baptist Church.  Mr. Jackson was the owner and operator of several local convenience stores.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Stephenson Jackson, a granddaughter, Bethany Yarbrough, his twin brother, Ralph Jackson, and two sisters, Deane Blissett and Mary Jo Plumley.

Mr. Jackson is survived by his son, Raymond “Barry” Jackson, Jr., and his wife Teresa; daughter, Marie Smith and her husband Larry.  Ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial services for Mr. Jackson will be Friday, March 15, 2024, at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Hulsey officiating.

Mr. Jackson’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour.
