Raymund Copelan

Raymund S. Copelan, age 85, of Aragon, GA, passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. He was born on February 17, 1936 to his late parents E.G. Copeland, Sr. and Virginia Gatliff Copeland. Mr. Copelan lived in Aragon since 1977 after moving from Forsyth. He was a graduate of Mary Persons High School. Raymund was retired from Georgia Power, where he worked as a maintenance supervisor with over 30 years of service. He was a member of The Church of Christ. In his free time, he enjoyed horseback riding, hunting, fishing, cows, goats and wood working. Mr. Copelan was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 2 brothers: Pete Copelan and David Copeland.

Mr. Copelan is survived by his loving wife, Doris Copelan of Aragon, GA, children: Kim Wright and her husband, Darrell of Aragon, GA, Stacy Bennett and her husband, Ricky of Aragon, GA, Dutch Copelan and his wife, Regan of Aragon, GA, grandchildren: Clay Bennett, Elizabeth Forsyth, Alex Black and William Raymund Copelan, six great-grandchildren, sister, Rebecca Ham and her husband, John of Forsyth, GA, brother, Patrick Copeland and his wife, Jody and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Raymund S. Copelan will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Minister Keith Crews officiating. Interment will follow the service at Rose Hill Cemetery with Mr. Ethan Black officiating and the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Clay Bennett, Patrick Copeland, William Raymund Copelan, Dustin Covington, John Moore, Chad Moore, Ryan Bassett and James Raymund Forsyth.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, May 22, 2021 from 12:00 PM until the service begins at 2:00 PM.
