Richard Casey Brock, Jr.

Mr. Richard Casey Brock, Jr., age 55, of Powder Springs, GA passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2015 at his residence.

He was born in Atlanta, GA on September 11, 1959 a son of Richard C. Brock, Sr. and Marguerite (Peggy) Waters Brock. Richard had been a resident of Powder Springs since 1983. He was of the Baptist faith and was employed by Carastar Industries. He loved to hike, enjoyed running and traveling to the mountains and spending time at the beach. Richard ran in the Peachtree Road Race for twenty years and had also hiked on the Appalachian Trail in Georgia and North Carolina.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia (Cindi) Brock of Powder Springs to whom he was married on November 18, 1978; parents: Richard and Marguerite (Peggy) Brock, Cedartown ; sister, Beverly McCrillis, FL; father in law, Wilburn Holland, Aragon; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Dr. Wayne Fain officiating. Interment will follow in the Aragon Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 12 noon until the funeral hour at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will include: Scott Holland, Jeffery Holland, Blake Holland, Kody Gamel, Joshua Streetman and Ken Streetman.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial gifts be made to the Smokey Mountain Conservancy .
