Robert Alvin Hufstetler

Mr. Robert Alvin Hufstetler, age 91, lifelong resident of Bartow County, GA, passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021. He was born on July 31, 1929 in Cartersville, GA, to his late parents Homer and Millie Pugh Hufstetler. Robert was retired from RD Simpson, where he had worked for many years. Mr. Hufsteler was Baptist by faith. He greatly enjoyed working and tinkering on lawnmowers and spending time gardening. Mr. Hufstetler was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mrs. Ruby Waits Hufstetler, his daughter, Ann Dover, 6 sisters and 5 brothers.

Mr. Hufstetler is survived by his loving children: Jonny Hufstetler of Hapeville, GA, Jean Sanford and her husband, Ronnie of Rockmart, GA, Carl Lee Hufstetler and his wife, Kathy of Cartersville, GA, Frances Shoemaker and her husband, Jerry of Cartersville, GA; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great grandchildren; 3 brothers: Floyd, Alton and Troy Hufstetler; 3 sisters: Patsy Sage, Barbara Hazelwood and Martha Lee and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Hufstetler will be held on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at 6:00 PM at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Herbert Goodwin and Rev. Rob Miller officiating. Interment will be held on Monday, March 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Floyd Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Earl Vaughn officiating the graveside service. Serving as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen: Todd Sanford, Forrest Sanford, Jamie Shoemaker, Jason Shoemaker, Robbie Hufstetler and Jody Jones. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Jackie Jr. Waits, Brian Groce, Terrell Kidd, Shane Crone, Eric Dover, Phil Drummond and members of Hearth Hospice (Blakely, Ben and Kelley).

The family will receive friends at the funeral home for a visitation on Saturday, March 20, 2021 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
